Labels your whole family can print — even the ones who can't do computers.
Laberty turns a Brother label printer into a family appliance: address labels by voice, food labels from a barcode photo, appointment cards, grocery runs — with a simple screen for the family member who prints, and a full console for whoever runs the house.
Runs on the Brother QL series · open source at heart · your data stays yours
One printer. A whole household of jobs.
🗣 Ask Laberty — printing by conversation
"Send a birthday card to the Hendersons." The assistant finds the household, picks the right name style, and shows one big print button. No menus, no forms, no typing — designed from day one for an elderly family member on a tablet, with tap-to-answer chips for every question.
- Adds and fixes addresses just by talking it through
- Offers to remember birthdays — then mails the labels itself next year
- Nothing ever happens without an explicit tap on a real button
🥫 Food labels with a brain
Scan a barcode — or just photograph the product — and two AIs search the web, cross-check each other against a UPC database, and hand you a finished label: name, use-by date, nutrition, cooking directions, a real scannable barcode. Wrong directions on the box lookup? Photograph the box panel and it transcribes the real thing.
- Custom house barcodes for your own cooking
- Day-month-year dates that can't be misread
- Long content flows onto extra labels instead of shrinking to nothing
🛒 Grocery mode
A no-login page made for one hand in a store aisle: scan as you shop, and every lookup, expiration date, and label happens later from the couch. Speak the dates — "the milk's good for two weeks" — and it files them onto the right items.
- Every family gets its own private grocery link to share
- Camera, barcode gun, or plain typing
- Full history of what you bought and when
📅 Appointment cards & calendar strips
Corkboard-ready appointment cards — big bold name, time, and date — plus a compact strip sized to fit a paper wall calendar square with room left to handwrite. Dictate a week of appointments in one breath and the AI splits it into cards for you to check.
- Saved, editable, reprintable — and self-cleaning after the date passes
- Long appointment names get smart automatic abbreviations
- Print one, or select a whole stack at once
AI proposes. You decide. Code does the math.
Laberty uses AI where language lives — understanding what you said, finding products, transcribing a box panel — and deterministic code where mistakes hurt: dates, barcodes, and printing. Every AI suggestion is validated against your real data and waits for your tap. Two models cross-check each other on product lookups, and disagreements are shown, not hidden.
Home and Business include a monthly allowance of AI actions on our keys — assistants, lookups, vision, all counted transparently in your analytics. Free gets 10 trial actions, then runs AI on your own key.
Add your own Anthropic or OpenAI key and your AI runs on your account — uncapped, at cost, and your usage never touches our meters.
Built-in analytics show each AI call, its tokens, and its estimated cost. No mystery meat.
Tell a friend about it without handing over your address book.
Yes, of course your data is separate from everyone else's — that's the floor, not a feature. What's worth knowing is how completely separate: when someone else signs up, they get their own everything. Their own people and addresses, their own food catalog, their own printers, their own logins, even their own name for the app and their own assistant personality. There is no shared directory, no "family network" to join, nothing of yours to accidentally expose.
Inside your own household it works the other way on purpose: the person who does the printing signs in to one simple screen, and whoever manages things gets the full console — same data, two very different views, one household. And the boring but important part: your data is here to print your labels. It is not sold, not shared, and not used to train anything.

| Add-on | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Extra AI actions one-time · never expire |
$9 500 actions |
$18.00 per 1,000 — tops up this month and rolls over forever; unused actions are still there next year. |
| $29 2,000 actions |
$14.50 per 1,000 — the bigger the pack, the cheaper each action gets. | |
| $59 5,000 actions |
$11.80 per 1,000 — the best rate. Sensible if you label a whole pantry in one sitting. | |
| Any custom amount | $20 per 1,000 |
Type the number you want, from 250 up. Same one-time, never-expires deal. |
| Pay as you go | Free to switch on |
Instead of stopping when the month runs out, Laberty buys another pack automatically — never more than the monthly dollar limit you set. Off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off any time. |
| Gemini & Grok | $9 one-time |
Adds Google Gemini and xAI Grok as assistant choices, running on your own key. For anyone already paying one of them who doesn't want to buy a second AI subscription. Included with Business. |
| Founder license | $499 one-time |
The source code, perpetual rights, self-host it on your own Cloudflare account with your own keys. A year of updates, deliberately zero support. |
One thing you asked the AI to do. Concretely:
For scale: 500 actions is roughly 250 conversations plus 50 product lookups in a month. Most households never come close. Printing itself never costs an action — only the AI does, and the app works fine with the AI switched off entirely.

Questions people actually ask
Which printers work?
From a phone or tablet with no setup at all: the Brother QL series (QL-820NWB, QL-810W, QL-600, and the wide QL-1110NWB) on die-cut address stock and 2.4" continuous rolls. Beyond that, the desktop print agent — a small Docker container you run on any computer near your printers — drives everything else through two universal paths: your operating system's own print system (Brother QL and PT, Dymo, Rollo, TSC, and any ordinary inkjet or laser printer) and raw network printing for Zebra ZPL label printers and Epson/Star ESC/POS receipt printers. Nothing needs an inbound port: the agent reaches out to Laberty, claims jobs, and prints them.
Is it really usable by someone who "can't do computers"?
That's who it was built for. The member screen is one purpose-built page: talk or tap, huge buttons, one print button, no settings, no menus. If anything ever breaks, they see a calm "your admin has been notified" — and the admin's phone actually gets notified.
How does the AI pricing really work?
Home and Business include a monthly allowance of AI actions on our keys — an action is one assistant reply or photo read, and a full web-search product lookup counts as five. Free includes 10 trial actions to try it, then AI runs entirely on your own key. Three ways to go further, all optional: buy a pack of extra actions (they never expire), switch on pay-as-you-go with a monthly spending limit you set yourself, or add your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key so all of your AI runs on your account instead — uncapped by us, billed by the provider at their rates, usually pennies. Analytics shows every call and its estimated cost either way.
How do I sign in? Is there two-factor?
Four ways, your choice: a password, a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key — nothing to type or remember), Google, or Microsoft. Turn on authenticator-app two-factor and you'll be asked for a six-digit code after your password; you get one-time recovery codes at the same time, so a lost phone is an inconvenience rather than a lockout. Passkeys count as strong authentication on their own, and they're the easiest option by far for anyone who finds typing a password on a tablet a struggle.
Can other families see my data?
No. Every family is a separate workspace and every database query is scoped to it — people, labels, food catalogs, printers, branding, even the assistant's personality are per-workspace. Workspace admins can't see other workspaces; only the deployment's domain admin can create them.
Is it open source? Can I self-host?
Laberty's core is being prepared for an open-source release — it runs on Cloudflare Workers with a D1 database and no proprietary services beyond the AI keys you choose. Self-hosters bring their own keys. The one-time Founder license adds source rights to the premium modules with self-hosting freedom and zero strings.
What happens if I cancel?
Your workspace drops to the Free plan: address labels and the assistant keep working, the premium tabs pause but nothing is deleted. Come back any time; your data is exactly where you left it.
Do you sell my data or train on it?
No and no. Your data lives in the app's own database, is used to print your labels, and that's the whole story. AI calls go to the provider you chose (Anthropic/OpenAI) under their API terms, which don't train on API data.
